I’m thrilled to offer handmade socks!
Meet Bessie, my vintage Circular Sock Machine—an Imperia crafted from solid chrome and cast iron around 1929. She’s an absolute gem, but mastering sock-making on one of these machines has been an art in itself. After months of learning and a sock drawer overflowing with cosy creations, I’m excited to share them with you.
Crafted from a high-quality blend of 75% Superwash wool and 25% nylon, these socks are durable, practical, and made to last. Once you experience the comfort of knitted socks, you’ll never want to wear anything else. They’re warm, long-lasting, and designed for a snug yet comfortable fit, featuring a fully ribbed cuff and ribbing across the top of the foot for extra flexibility.
Choosing the right size:
- If you prefer a snug fit, have standard-width feet, and don’t plan on washing them at high temperatures, opt for the larger of the two sizes that match your shoe size (e.g., if you wear a size 5, choose 4-5).
- If you have wider feet, select the smaller size for better widthwise stretch.
- The smallest size listed is the minimum standard foot size they comfortably fit, but thanks to their impressive stretch, they can accommodate up to one or two sizes larger.
These socks will soften slightly with each wash, with minimal shrinkage that won’t affect the fit—they’ll stretch right back with wear. Another bonus of knitted socks? They adapt beautifully to different foot shapes. Plus, they’re machine washable at 30°C (I usually use the wool setting).
Buy quality, buy once.
Please note: The pattern may vary slightly depending on the size.
