Meet Bessie, my vintage Circular Sock Machine—a gorgeous Imperia from around 1929, crafted from solid chrome and cast iron. Knitting socks on this beauty is truly an art, and after plenty of practice (and an overflowing sock drawer!), I’m thrilled to share them with you.
And how adorable are these little anklets? Made from a premium blend of 75% Superwash wool, 25% nylon, and added lycra, they’re durable, incredibly comfortable, and wonderfully stretchy. Designed with a short ribbed cuff and a deeper heel for a snug fit, these socks will keep you cosy on cool mornings yet breathable on warmer days.
Thanks to their incredible S-T-R-E-T-C-H from the lycra, they’ll comfortably fit a size 4, but will also stretch to a 5 or 6. With every wash, they’ll soften slightly with minimal shrinkage—stretching right back to shape as you wear them. That’s the magic of knitted socks!
Machine washable at 30°C (I prefer the wool setting for mine), they’re made to last.
